Some time shortly after I was diagnosed with early onset Parkinson’s , my main thought was for my little boy. As his Dad I have to do all I can to protect him but I am not quite going to be as physically tough for him as I would have liked. He will no doubt grow just as strong and grow with my slowly degenerative brain disease , and maybe be a stronger person for it. Nevertheless it feels a tall order to ask of him at the outset of this journey and so I felt compelled, in the early hours one morning, to write a little poem to express how I feel about my little star. I hope he reads it and likes it. Sometime in the future, I hope he reads it to his little star or stars too! 😊
My little boy, I love you.
My little boy, my superstar,
Nothing in the world is as bright.
In my eyes you grow, a shining light.
My little boy, my beating heart.
Sweet dreams tonight, across the universe.
Hopes & wishes, angels & stars.
Stories of hope, following your heart.
No fears, no hurt, just laughs & kisses.
My lullaby song to you.
Sweet dreams tonight, my little boy.
My little boy, I love you
My little boy, my superstar
Nothing in the world is as fun
As you make me feel, so good, so real.
My little boy, my beating heart.
Sweet dreams tonight, to the moon and back.
Love and hugs, bursts and kisses.
Such little wisdom, keep your courage.
I’ll take your fear, don’t you worry.
My lullaby song to you.
Sweet dreams tonight, my little boy.
